Tres Leches Matcha Latte

A classic tres leches cake Tres leches is a soft, and light spongy custard cake that’s soaked through with a sweet, milky sauce. The unique combination of different kinds of milk and cream creates a light but rich flavor that’s ideal for adding bolder flavors like caramel and toasted coconut. The tres leches matcha latte is basically this cake, in a glass. Condensed coconut milk provides the perfect amount of sweetness while coconut shavings and a caramel drizzle give this drink its razzle-dazzle. All the while, matcha’s working in the background to give a grounding nuttiness and superfood power. It’s a cake, in a cup, what more can we say?
Ingredients:
- 2 oz condensed coconut milk
- 2 oz evaporated coconut milk
- 2 oz heavy cream (optional)
- 2-4 oz oat milk
- 4 oz water mixed with 1/2-1 tsp Tenzo matcha to taste
- Ice cubes as desired
Topping Ingredients:
- Whipped cream or coconut whip
- Toasted coconut flakes
- Caramel drizzle
Directions:
- Add all drink ingredients, except ice, and combine with an electric whisk until well combined.
- Then, pour latte over ice and serve topped with whipped cream or coconut whip cream, toasted coconut flakes, and caramel syrup.
If you want to take this drink to the next level, add a sprinkle of cinnamon for a fall twist or a squeeze of lime for something summery fresh. Or, keep things simple and forgo all additional toppings to enjoy a primarily matcha-fueled beverage.
