Tiramisu Matcha Latte
Tiramisu. Have you been introduced to the famous Italian dessert? The name itself, tiramisu, means “pick me up” in Italian, most likely referring to the two caffeinated ingredients that are present in the dish, espresso and cocoa. You know we had to ‘Tenzo it’ and make it a drink - Viva! Don’t be intimidated, it’s really just some whisking, frothing, and sprinkling. Espresso and matcha, the power couple you didn’t know you needed on a late evening. Sip slowly and engage with each flavor. Salute!
Tiramisu Matcha Latte
Ingredients:
4 oz hot water
1 tbsp black cocoa powder
½ tsp Tenzo matcha tea powder
Stevia to sweeten (I use about 10-12 drops)
6 oz milk or milk alternative frothed (see instructions for how to make)
1 tbsp Chocolate syrup
Cinnamon and cocoa powder to top
Instructions:
Combine hot water, cocoa powder, matcha tea powder, and stevia in a glass container and whisk until well combined, then pour chocolate syrup around edges of the glass with a teaspoon, letting it drip down the sides. Pour the chocolate mixture into the glass and top with frothed milk (I use a french press to do this, but you can also use a milk frother), then top with a sprinkle of cocoa powder and cinnamon.
