Layered Fall Harvest Smoothie
Posted on October 02, 2020 | by Madison Dipboye
There’s more than one way to fall into autumn, and believe it or not, you can do it without ever uttering the words “pumpkin spice.” We don’t have anything against pumpkin spice, but it does have a tendency to overshadow some of the other delicious flavors that fall has to offer. And, let’s not forget those late summer berries, who’s rich hues mimic our favorite part of fall, the changing leaves. A layered fall harvest smoothie is the perfect way to take a little break from pumpkin spice with a beautiful, fresh treat. Hints of maple syrup keep us in our autumn feels while fresh strawberries and raspberries dip us back into summer. And, the pièce de résistance, the matcha layer, adds a unique richness to this layered beverage. It’s easy to make, a treat to look at, and even better to drink.
Strawberry layer:
1 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries (I used fresh)
1/2 cup plain coconut yogurt (or other plain yogurt of your choice)
1/3 banana
1 Tablespoon of maple syrup or more to taste
1 Tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon chia seeds
Raspberry layer:
1 cup of fresh raspberries
1/2 cup plain coconut yogurt (or other plain yogurt of your choice)
1/3 banana
2 Tablespoons goji berries
1 Tablespoon of maple syrup or more to taste
1 teaspoon chia seeds
Matcha layer:
1/2 cup plain coconut yogurt (or other plain yogurt of your choice)
1-2 Teaspoons TENZO matcha
1 Tablespoon maple syrup or more to taste
1/3 banana
Blend each layer separately and layer as you wish! Top off your smoothie with some goji berries and coconut flakes!
We can’t blame you if you fall head over heels for both the look and the taste of this unique smoothie. It’s a flawless blend of summer and autumn, and it’s so easy to make. Just throw your ingredients in the blender, and you’re good to go. Matcha adds just the right kick of caffeine and those bright berries make for the perfect accent.
