This unique beverage combines the rich, caramel notes of brown sugar with the fragrant essence of lavender and the invigorating kick of matcha. Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
- 1-1.5tsp Tenzo matcha powder
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp dried culinary lavender
Directions:
- Combine the brown sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Once the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is simmering, stir in the dried culinary lavender and let it simmer for a minute or two to infuse its flavor into the syrup.
- Allow the mixture to come to a gentle boil, watching carefully to avoid overboiling while heating it just enough for the lavender to release its aromatic oils.
- Once boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat and strain out the lavender petals using a fine mesh strainer, leaving behind a beautifully aromatic lavender syrup.
- Let the syrup cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a clean jar or bottle and store it in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.
